A digital archivist of Arab cinema, she’s usually the one salvaging films – typically female made ones – from obscurity or obliteration. Where and when she can, she screens them too. It’s quite a wide brief, as you might imagine. “Every country actually in the region, this culture is continually being destructed,’ she says, over Zoom. “At the moment, I’m trying to archive pre-Civil War Lebanese cinema.”
